This was posted over at DarkHorizons.com:

<!--EZCODE QUOTE START--><blockquote>Quote:<hr> Starsky and Hutch: You can't ignore the rumours anymore, it is going to happen. MTV talked with Todd Phillips who confirmed Ben Stiller is officially onboard and Owen Wilson on the cusp of joining the project hoping to start shooting by the end of the year - "We have Ben and Owen kind of lined up, but no deals are made. Ben's confirmed 'cause he's a producer on it. Owen right now is script-contingent. We're working on the script [now], so I think we'll get him". The Director talked a little about the story too: "[The movie] takes place in Bay City, present times. It's kind of the origin story of how these two guys got together. It predates the show, oddly enough, even though the show took place back then. We're updating the concept. It's going to be a little bit more of a straight-ahead comedy than an all-out action movie. [It will be an] action-comedy with 'comedy' in capital letters". Phillips also indicates that while Snoop Dogg is interested in playing Huggy Bear, nothing is signed as yet.<hr></blockquote><!--EZCODE QUOTE END--> <p>Good movies make you care, make you believe in possibilities again. </p>

My hope is that the new flick has NOTHING to do with the original series for two reasons.

1. I've never seen it.
2. Any formal structure/loyalty to the original beyond the title and the names will restrict the funny. <p><HR>Check out <a href=http://db.etree.org/aenematron>My Show List</a>!<BR>---<BR>"This is a movie too. Cut, print, that's a wrap everybody. We're over budget, the trial scene's cut. See ya at the Oscars!"<BR>-"Robert Blake"</p>

Tron, you have to see one episode, so that you can see how hilarious and retarded it was. It's all about funny, right down to PMG's wash-and-go perm.

I loved it.

TNN late nite!

He could wear his little Chas wig. Save some money. :)

And Owen could easily pull off the melodramatic David Soul. And he could borrow one of Wes's western snap-front shirts.

If this happens, it's going to be nuts.

Who used to wear the girlie sweaters? Hutch?

My sister had a crush on them boys. She had a framed picture, and I would paste moustaches on the guys.

That was Hutch in the girlie sweaters. Hutch was so ... blonde.

I don't know what that means, maybe I meant beige. Neutral boy. The safe driver.

Remember the episode where Starsky's driving like a maniac, and he gets them into an accident? (Ah huh, lots of those episodes around. That was when cars were made of STEEL, man. Starsky was always driving into stacked boxes and whatnot.) Anyway, Hutch was unconscious, and when he awoke, he thought he'd play a little joke on Starsky to teach him a lesson. So he played like he had amnesia, and for some reason, spoke with an English accent, and acted like he hated Starsky.

that's hysterical. I think I saw on that new VHI/William Shatner "One-Hit Wonders" tht Hutch had a top ten somewhere in the 70s... <p>" He flew the coop while we were sleepin'!"</p>

I believe that would be: "Gonna Let Her In." It went something like this:

"Gonna let her in,
Gonna let her in,
Gonna let her in. . . my life. . .

Gonna let her in,
Gonna let her in,
Gonna let her in . . . my LIFE!!"

Repeat at least thirty-eight times.

Oh, wait. Wasn't that John Travolta, and David Soul sang "Don't Give Up On Us Baby?" ("Don't give up on us ba-beee. . . We can make it thruuuuuuu!!!")

I think I confused my Seventies-TV-Stars-One-Hit-Wonders.
