For all you fans of Calvin and Hobbes out there, Bill Watterson is publishing the complete collection. It's due out on the 5th of October. Personally, It was one of my favorite comics when I was little. It was one of the few that could not only appeal to small kids and adults, but make both of them laugh. So, if anyone has a hankering for some high quality humor, it's coming soon.

Omigod, I adore Calvin and Hobbes for so many reasons.

Well, first of all, the genius of the comics. So funny, and cool, and drawn so very, very well.

And the DudleyBoy? Totally became an independent reader with Calvin and Hobbes. We read to him and the DudleyGirl all the time when they were young, and then the summer between second and third grade, he discovered Calvin and Hobbes. He read the collections over and over and that was it. He reads more than any person I know.

When I first started volunteering in the library I now run, first I donated Harry Potter books to the collection, then I had a "Crunchies for Comics" sale where I sold Kettle Korn at a bake sale to add Calvin and Hobbes to the collection. I now have all of Calvin and Hobbes books in the library (and many other comic books, too.)

And my car has Calvin and Hobbes decals. And my kiddie patrons think that is very neato. ;)

I would love a Calvin and Hobbes decal for my car but every one I've ever seen is one of Calvin pissing on something. The only way I'd do that sticker is if it was a Calvin pissing on a Calvin pissing. Those stickers make me angry.

Bill Watterston is great, though! Second only to Charles Schultz as the master of the funny papers, in my opinion.

You don't have scurvy. Only pirates get scurvy.

Yeah, I dont like those decals either, everytime I go to the mall by my town I see those and It kinda pisses me off. I've always loved calvin and hobbes. I named my cat hobbes because he's really lazy and he always stretches out all over the place, and he's always drinking out of my fish bowl but he never eats the fish, I think it's because he's too sophisticated and he has to get it from the market or something.

I hate those Calvin pissing stickers, too (I have one with Calvin with a halo, and the two of them making faces) but what I hate more is those Calvin praying ones. Yuck.

The little kids in the library are cute, because a lot of them, when they first start reading the books, call Hobbes "Hobbies."
"Where's Calvin and Hobbies?"
Some of them don't believe me when I correct them.

Mandingo. I grock your mouth music. -- The Tick

Not quite as bad though as when I asked a bookstore clerk "Do you have any books by Ronald Dahl?" I argued with him/her about it. I said something like "Come on, Roald's not a real name!" I was young and silly.

I never liked kids. They're like small drunk adults.

Evidently, he got tired of the pressure of a daily comic, and he just retired.

Sunday, in the comics.... Calvin and Hobbes!!! I went screaming into the house. Alas, it was a repeat. For the next few months, until that honkin' collection Max linked goes on sale, lots of papers are running Calvin and Hobbes Classic.

Really? I hadn't heard that. I did know that Burke Breathed (of Opus fame) did the cartooning for it.

Mandingo. I grock your mouth music. -- The Tick
