Awesome! I don't know that I have seen this thread before. Nice find, oberoi. REVIVAL!!
Here's just some of it.. I'll own up and say I burned my copy of Excepter. I'm using the opening track for an interpretation assignment in color theory class right now, and I really, really like Excepter.
Thom Yorke - The Eraser/ XL BARR - Summary/ 5RC I think this is exclusively instrumental or spoken word over music. Some of it's good, but it's been done better. I might recommend borrowing it from the library instead of buying at the record store (although, what library in the world has obscure 5RC releases? Seriously, let me know.) Destroyer - Destroyer's Rubies/ Merge Dan Bejar's own creation. He is in a couple other bands, most notably the New Pornographers. Spank Rock - YoYoYoYoYo/ Big Dada New York hipster hip hop. He's got really solid, interesting beats. A lot of his lyrics are sexually charged, as a warning, but if you don't mind that he's cool. A man's man in my book. Excepter - Debt Dept/ Paw Tracks (Paw Tracks is Animal Collective's relatively new label) Elf Power - In a Cave/ Rykodisc MGMT - Oracular Spectacular/ Columbia Oracular Spectacular is kind of iffy for me.. Very catchy, but it feels like an album full of singles. I've been putting them on a lot of mixes lately (and not just the same 2 or 3 songs), but I get a headache if i try to listen to this album start to finish.
