This artist and her band is amazing, quite simply put.

I guess I've "known" about her for some time now (Holly from the last Song on the White Stripes Elephant, and also the girl who sings the title song for "Broken Flowers" with the Greenhorns) however I've never really dug deeper into her own stuff. I'm glad I did.

Very London beatnick 60's sounding music, every song I've heard so far (unfortunately only samples on iTunes) is hypnotic! I'm going out to the record store today to hopefully find some of her stuff.

I really feel like this guy :hat in a smokey bar hidden away in an alley when I'm listening to it, it rocks!
------------------------------------

holly golightly is great.

i'm obsessed with a guy called Billy Childish, and she came out of his scene. every monthon a friday at the dirty water club in tufnell park (behind the boston arms, for those of you playing at home) the buff medways (with billy childish) would play. before he had the buff medways, he had Thee Headcoats. holly golightly used to support them in a band called Thee Headcoatees playing covers of billy childish. the rest is history.

billy childish is immense though. a highly charasmatic man, performer and artist. and he won't travel. he just won't. so imagine my extreme delight when he was announced in the line up for this year's meredith music fetival. i used to see him religiously once a month, now i haven't seen him for almost two years. it will RULE!

how did an asshole like bob get such a great kitchen?
