I've been listening to lots of Captain Beefheart. The Trout Mask Replica "house sessions" are amazing.

Went to see The Hold Steady last night and man do they rock. I highly recommend them to anyone who likes rock music about drug use, catholism and partying.

I'm rather enjoying these Canadians.

"Master of the House" from Les Mis.

Easily one of the most fun songs I've ever heard. Especially the very end. What I'd do the see the musical.

I had a Les Mis binge toward the end of my high school days and now can barely tolerate any of it. It's good, but I played it to death. I can still listen to Stars tho.. gotta love Javert.

I've been meaning to get The Raveonettes' Pretty in Black for a while, after someone here mentioned they do a cover of "My Boyfriend's Back." Well I'm listening to it now, and it is fantastic.

Has anyone heard The Silver Jews? They are pretty damn good. Kind of an alt-country vibe. I am enjoying their album immensely.

I'm pulling an all-nighter (again) for a couple of reasons...i've been sleeping in lately and have missed a couple classes as a result, and I can't miss tomorrow...and i'm going to Washington D.C. next week for Model Organization of the American States, so I'll miss three days of class (we have Thursday and Friday off, on account of Easter), and I have a paper due on Tuesday, so I have to turn it in tomorrow since I won't be here, and I have to write it.

Anyway, Danny Elfman's score to Men In Black is keeping me awake. And oddly enough, gives me a sense of purpose.

a local band has released a corker of an album. they're called gerling, they're pretty big here, but their new one '4' is so damn good!

download the songs 'gator' and 'when the night comes?'

this one took me by surprise!
