They Might Be Giants- Don't Let's Start (seeing this video lead me to Flood and other albums but it all started there) First time I realized music didn't require a guitar solo, talk of womanizing or partying or big hair.

Fugazi- Repeater (What do you mean I'm not what I own?)

Pixies- Surfer Rosa

Cure- Disentegration

Jane's Addiction- Ritual de lo Habitual

Public Enemy- Apocalypse 91

I could go on and on, but those marked definite changes in how I looked at music and life.

Currently Xiu Xiu's La Foret may be changing my life.

"Loveless" My Bloody Valentine
"Lost In Translation" Soundtrack
"The Rite of Spring"* Igor Stravinsky (quite possibly the most brash way to plunge into classical music seriously, luckily I heard Boulez's recording first)
"Kind of Blue" Miles Davis
"Rhapsody in Blue"* George Gershwin
"A Charlie Brown Christmas" Vince Guaraldi
"Come To Daddy EP" Aphex Twin
"Glassworks" Phillip Glass

*Not albums, but key works that spawned a lot of other interests

Probably others that are escaping me right now. (The WA soundtracks would be in there, but those go along with the movies, and are more extensions of living in the movie's universe than actual albums that spawned a lot of interests)
