I can't believe I haven't already started a thread for this band as they are my all-time favorites!

The 20th anniversary of their 2nd [hip hop] album, Paul's Boutique, is here, and the Beasties are re-releasing the album.

Pitchfork posted an article about the Good News ( ;-) ).

Some of my highlights of the re-issue deals:
Remastered music
Album-length commentary from the Beasties
Eco-friendly & new CD packaging
8-foot poster
(unfortunately only available in the $130 package)

The website for the re-release is really damn awesome, too: http://paulsboutique.beastieboys.com/

First of all, get off the wall.

The Paul's Boutique Reissue received a coveted 10.0 from Pitchfork! There used to be a wikipedia entry about the small list of releases that have earned a perfect rating, or an abominably low rating.

Anyway, the Beasties are now re-issuing Check Your Head, a decision that is not so merited.

i'm with you on this one Beastie Boys shaped my childhood. i grew up with them.

I'm pretty upset about adam Youchs recent cancer scare. but thier new album seems that it might be pretty amazing (as if it could be anything else) with Santigold and Nas featured on it.

Here's the new album cover.

And yes, MCA has cancer, and he's already had preliminary surgery to remove it.
The Mic to Mic blog put up a sort of ode to MCA the other day. The Beasties also put a video on YouTube, wherein MCA and AdRock (Adams Yauch & Horovitz, respectively) explain the situation.

Here's a song from the album they did with Nas.

Not the best.
