If this film is only going to be released in select theatres, has anyone heard which other locations, other than New York City, that it will be showing in?

From what I gather, it will premiere on the 28th at the New York Film Festival, open in New York on the 29th, and open in 'select theatres' on 5 October. I am not sure what that means; I suspect big cities, and outward from there.

Does that help?

That helps some. Considering the fact that I'm kinda new to all this, do you think it's a pretty good bet that the film will be shown in Atlanta, GA?

i heard the words, "christmas day." i think with TLA, though, it was released to select theaters on like dec.10, then the 25th everywhere, so maybe that date is kaput, or maybe i'm mixing it up w/ fantastic fox

This is just to make Richie T. feel better! I'm completely sure it will be shown in Atlanta, there are a lot of theatres there that will have it in October, if not the 5th then the 12th. I'm in Valdosta and we actually got Life Aquatic one week after its main release, which was a great pleasant surprise. Atlanta will definitely have TDL. Take care y'all!

According to Box Office Mojo, Darjeeling will expand (from 2 theaters in NY) to 19 theaters, presumably in the top markets on Friday October 5th. I know it's opening in Chicago this week, and I assume LA aswell, as for other markets, I don't know. They don't list any other expansion dates, which means Fox is probably going to see how it does this week before deciding when to roll it out in more cities. It should expand either on the 12th, or the following week, and you can check your local theaters every week, which usually start listing on Wednesdays at places like Fandango.

very nice-- i am going to atlanta to visit my gf this weekend, and TDL will be there!

if you go here, you can search for your area and it will say "no, no showtimes," or it will give times. hope it's accurate!
http://boxofficemojo.com/movies/?page=showtimes&id=darjeelinglimited.htm

on edit: mmm, damn, maybe not.. i was just searching Dayton, where i am, and it gave me showtimes here, too; but like, this one indie theater downtown was listed, but the theater's website has been saying they weren't getting the film until Oct29th.

a minute later... k now it's not showing up. as they say in those "truf" commercials, WUDFXUP?

For any other Toronto Racers, the Darjeeling Limited opens tomorrow at Cumberland theater. I'm so excited. I'll be at the 1:30 showing.

For those in Seattle, I just did some digging, and found that it's opening on the 12th, according to the Landmark Theatres site. They only list one theatre, though (the Guild 45th). Also, the following weekend, Rushmore is the midnight movie at the Egyptian.
