Hello! Maybe this is an inappropriate place for this question, but I do not have an I-Pod or anything, and I was wondering if I'll be able to watch the short on the internet. I have no internet connection, but access to a computer (obviously) and I sometimes download things to my zip drive. Will I be able to do this from I-tunes? Is there some software I must download first? Thank you in advance for your help. I am a big fan of Andersons and imagine not all of us have I-pods.

Hi Bearded Bunnie!
I also saw an article that specifically mentioned iTunes for Hotel Chevalier, but I don't think it will be the exclusive way to see it. He also mentioned that he plans to make it available on the internet, and I would imagine there might be a way to do it through the Fox site. Also, in another article that came out this weekend, he mentioned that once the limited release happens, he is going to try to have it added back on for the wider theatrical release.
If you do end up having to do it through iTunes, you won't need to have an iPod. It's an easy software to download to your computer, akin to RealPlayer. I downloaded it about three years ago, and I just bought an iPod in the last month; it's all been fine so far and I still use RealPlayer and Quicktime whenever I prefer them. And hopefully if Apple is good and kind, they might even give us a way to see it at their own websites. It'll get people in to their online Apple stores, in any case.
I hope that helps?

Thank You. I'm so happy this is coming soon! It will soothe the long wait for the film itself. I was trying all day Sat. to get passes for the Philly screening, but the page wouldn't load! Then sunday it said it exceeded the limit. I'll gladly pay to see the film though, my main motivation was my assuption that the screening would have the short. I've seen no logical reason it wasn't just included with the film. If it's "Part 1" of the film and Wes wants eveyone to see it before hand... Anyways, Thanks.

yes! thank you! I don't have Itunes either so I really wanna see it, so I don't know whether to just wait for some nice samaritan to put it on youtube, or to get it on itunes and load that whole player. :-( I'll have to see.

You don't need a portable device to watch something on iTunes (he said in airline talk). You can download stuff and watch/listen to it on your home computer.

Good question. The Fox Searchlight site mentioned 9 pm, but I took it to mean the same time as the Apple screenings (i.e. last night). I hope we don't have to wait until 9, but I guess a few more hours is not much in the context of 3 years of waiting.

It is on iTunes right now, but it says it is $1.99. I found it by using the browse feature on the iTunes store and searching for Movies then Short Films and then Hotel Chevalier was there on the list of short films. However for some reason you can not type in Hotel Chevalier in the top right hand search bar to find it. Hopefully this changes to free like promised.

here is the iTunes URL - http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewVideo?id=265079483&s=143441

by the way I am new to the this community, but not new to Wes Anderson films. I love this site and look forward to interacting with this community of people.

Thank you!!!

Oh, and I'm really glad you didn't die when you ate that peanut.

edited to say that it says it isn't available at this time in the US store... but I'm still glad about the not dying from the peanut allergy thing.

oh sweet! i was able to get to it (in usa) via that link. good lookin! i dont think i can wait for it to be free, but steve jobs didn't refund those people who bought iphones in the first week, before the price dropped, so it'll have to be $2 spent :-) . i like apple pretty well though, and hopefully wes gets a piece somehow.

edit: oh damn! it wont let me get it. sheesh. all this may mean i need a job haha

yeah it told me something like, "the availability of this item changed while you were in the store. the item may be available at a different price or in a different location within the store." i think they've just got like a dozen responses for people who got links that they arent supposed to find in the store.
