Here is the latest rumour on Owen's possible future film projects. The previous one which surfaced about two weeks ago, is that he is in talks to sign on for a New Line film called The Wedding Crashers, with Vince Vaughn, also a romantic comedy.

Owen Wilson hot for 'Date' with Barrymore

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Owen Wilson is in discussions to enroll in "Date School" opposite Drew Barrymore at DreamWorks Pictures, the studio confirmed. Jon Favreau is on board to direct the romantic comedy.

"Date School" centers on a woman (Barrymore) who is determined to find love but is lousy at dating. She then turns to a dating instructor (Wilson) for help.

The project would be Barrymore's fourth teaming with the Wilson clan. She starred with Wilson's brother, Luke, in "Home Fries" and both "Charlie's Angels" films.

Wilson has been shooting back-to-back projects including "Around the World in 80 Days," "Starsky & Hutch," "The Wendell Baker Story" and "The Life Aquatic."

These rumours are only at the "talks" stage and may turn out to be as substantial as the Cat Woman rumours were. Even so, I could use a rumour about him being in talks to do something a bit more substantial and interesting about now. I realise those roles must be few and far between but he is such a great talent and most rom com's are so woeful and predictable - I guess there are exceptions. Stll I have TLA and TWBS to look forward too amongst others, so I won't get too concerned just yet

chels', Around the World is in post-production. not that i care much about it, but just to have the facts straight. and the reporter didn't say that he/she signed, just "in talks".

ok, what I meant is that we never did (did we?) hear that Owen and LUke did Around the world - just that they were talking about it. Although OK, if they DID finally agree to do it and it's in post-pro then they've done it (zipped in for their cameo). and as far I I myself was concerned I meant that i thought and even hoped this one might not come to pass, just as Catwoman did not.
