there is this one scene from the movie that was taken out, during jackie's fight in the wax museum. owen walks into a room full of cowboy legends and stuff and he saw outlaw jesse jones dressed just like him, and in a fit or rage he kicked down the wax figure, screaming "pointless act!" then he added "that feels better." or something. but that pointless's act gotta be from bottle rocket.

That was funny, but a funnier deleted scene from that movie was when they were hiding in the armor suits and those guys come in and Jackie Chan beats them up and Owen falls down, and when Owen lifts up his mask and asks Jackie, "How many did I get?" Jackie goes "You got one, and I got one." And then Owen goes "Even in a tin can I still got the moves of a jungle cat." They really should've left that one in there.
"Richard Gere, he's a real hero of mine....Sting, Sting would be another person who's a hero. The music that he makes, I don't really listen to it. But just the fact that he's making it, I respect that."

that sounds like classic owen. But I think pete was just apreciating the Bottlerocket reference. That was way back in the small "p" days...

I don't give a damn for a man that can only spell a word one way. -mark twain

I saw this on the dvd and thought it was pretty cool to have a little reference to Bottle Rocket :) A kind of in joke for us fans to appreciate. It also shows Owen's love of inprovisation yet again!

Yes, I thought that was quite hilarious. One of my favorite lines from Bottle Rocket: "I just feel like the team isn't gelling, if I can even use that word, because I don't even think we are a team..." Even when I just think of the tone in Owen's voice as he says that, I start laughing.
"Richard Gere, he's a real hero of mine....Sting, Sting would be another person who's a hero. The music that he makes, I don't really listen to it. But just the fact that he's making it, I respect that."
