I <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--><em>finally</em><!--EZCODE ITALIC END--> viewed this movie tonight. I always thought that it looked pretty blah, but I have to say that I rather enjoyed it. As long as Owen can still hand out laughs, I guess I don't really care if the plot is ever so similar to Rush Hour. *unsure which movie came out first*

::Up Next::
<!--EZCODE BOLD START--><strong>Permanent Midnight</strong><!--EZCODE BOLD END-->
Now showing in <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--><em>my</em><!--EZCODE ITALIC END--> living room, plenty of seats available.

This is very true...he <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--><em>was</em><!--EZCODE ITALIC END--> funny. I feel I didn't give the film enough credit in that first post. It was more my surpise that my initial perception of the movie was that it would be horrible.

I also really enjoyed Permanent Midnight. They didn't give it a very good review on imdb.com, but personally I think I am going to file it in the <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--><em>damn good</em><!--EZCODE ITALIC END--> category.

I've seen some truly terrible movies with Owen in it (namely Armageddon and behind enemy lines), but I don't think I've ever seen a Jackie movie without some kinda redeeming value--he's always got that good ol kickass action comedy scenes by his side, that's why I don't think any movie starring him and Owen can be too bad--they can't possibly drag each other down (not like Chris Tucker or Jennifer Love Hewitt, or a meteor the size of Texas.)

I saw BEL in a theatre and really enjoyed it. I was surprised that I liked it as much as I did.

I saw it on HBO recently and realized I must have been caught up in the post 9/11 patriotism because it really was pretty bad. Some interesting action, but pretty poor acting and unbelievable.

<p>"Damn you. You're taking my encyclopedias. This is humiliating."</p>

give 25th hour a shot, it's got a lot of post-9/11 patriotism in it, but it's a great movie.

I really liked behind enemy lines. In fact I believe it was John Moore's directorial debut. I will definitely go see his next film.

Sorry but Shanghai noon was hysterical for me - I really liked that one too. The first hook was the cartoon drawing of the train :P:P

I believe a lot of you yankees will really enjoy About Schmidt. It's a movie that during it you don't know what to feel, but at the end you know. It's pure emotion and I loved it. I highly recommend it. <p>"On the road from Johnny law, ain't no trip to Cleveland."</p>

YankFisher, please go post a review in the Payne thread. I sorta tanked it, Tron posted some positive things about it, but it could use some good word of ... mouth? on the board.

I'm going to give it another chance. I wish I'd liked it the first time around, but I didn't. But it is Alexander Payne's film, so I'll try, try again.

I was initially nervous about seeing Shanghai Noon as well, I thought it would be horrible. But I really enjoyed it, although I enjoyed the second viewing more than the first.
I loved Behind Enemy Lines as well, I thought it was great and kept me on the edge of my seat.

I saw this tonight. Does anyone know what the tatoo on Owen's left shoulder says? You can see it in the bathtub scene. I was watching the video, not the DVD, so I had no way to stop it and zoom in. I'm assuming it's his own personal tatoo, as it didn't figure in the plot.<!--EZCODE MAIL START--><a href="mailto:vegwriter@aol.com"> mailto:vegwriter@aol.com</a><!--EZCODE MAIL END-->

Yeah, it's a shamrock and it says luck or lucky, I'm not sure which. You can see it quite clearly in S&H (in the scene where they are mistakenly wearing the little towels in the locker room).
I'm guessing it has something to do with his Irish heritage?

There's no doubt the guy is lucky! (Not that he's not extremely talented--because he is.)
