Ooh, this looks lovely. I feel it's been mentioned before but I found this lovely site from the book's designers, with a few preview pages:

This thing looks gorgeous and I've kept forgetting to take a look at in a bookstore. It definitely looks like it goes beyond promotional.

Wow, great find cg. I'm usually not impressed with these kinds of books, but I think I might take this one as my new coffee table book.

I bought it.

About 200 pages, well over 1,000 pictures (all with captions), and just a lot to look at. Probably a solid 1-2 hours from cover to cover.

While anyone who is as slavishly devoted to Anderson or FMF to be posting here will enjoy this book greatly - I would have to say I was hoping for more text on the actual 'making of' process. There are some interviews, but no text talking about the process in detail.

The concept art shows just how much of a trainwreck this movie could have been visually (the early sketches were flat out dumb), and some scans of the early scripts were pretty bad.

Oh, and make sure to slip the dust jacket off - it looks like Mr. Fox's jacket!

However, if you like this movie, you do need to check out this book.

This book is my favouritest :) another amazing book about Wes Anderson, which includes a massive chunk on Fantastic Mr Fox has just come out - Wes Anderson; Why his Movies Matter. Really really interesting, I don't 100% agree with everything in it but its a flipping good read and it'll generate some smashing debates. anyone else read it?

That "Why Wes Anderson Matters" book is shoddy work. I read the excerpt of the Bottle Rocket chapter and it's filled with inaccuracies, like referring to Dignan as Bob and saying the feature came out in 1994 and played Sundance. The short played Sundance, the feature was ironically rejected.
