Noah is putting together a new film called Greenberg. Ben Stiller is up for the lead role and I guess it makes sense cause it's under the catergory Comedy.

From the plot summary on IMDB, it says,

"A New Yorker moves to Los Angeles in order to figure out his life while he housesits for his brother, and he soon sparks with his brother's assistant."

First images and complete synopsis about 'Greenberg' from collider.com

Meet Roger Greenberg (Ben Stiller): a dysfunctional 40-year-old at a crossroads in his life. Roger wants to “do nothing” for a while, so he agrees to housesit for his younger and more successful brother, giving him a free place to stay in L.A. While in town, he tries to reconnect with his old friends and band mates but times have changed, and old friends aren’t necessarily still best friends. Greenberg starts spending time with his brother’s personal assistant Florence (Greta Gerwig), an aspiring singer and herself something of a lost soul too. During a series of embarrassingly awkward romantic encounters, we sense that perhaps even someone as irascible as Greenberg may have found somebody who is prepared to appreciate him for himself - if he would only stop critiquing Florence’s techniques in bed. Over the course of several weeks, we watch an uncertain and wonderfully vulnerable courtship play out, and learn how funny, and terribly unpredictable, love in the modern world can be.

And here we got the trailer for Greenberg, the official synopsis and the movie poster. This material is like a drug for me, and now I need more.

Official Synopsis:
Greenberg (Ben Stiller) is at a crossroads in his life. Out of a job and none too interested in finding one, he agrees to housesit for his younger and more successful brother (Chris Messina), thereby getting a free place to stay in Los Angeles. Once settled in, Greenberg sets out to reconnect with his old friend and former bandmate Ivan (Rhys Ifans). But times have changed, and old friends aren’t necessarily still best friends, so Greenberg finds himself spending more and more time instead with his brother’s personal assistant Florence (Greta Gerwig), an aspiring singer and herself something of a lost soul. As their relationship develops through a series of embarrassingly awkward romantic encounters, even someone as irascible as Greenberg might have at last found a reason to be happy.

Nevermind how I came about this, but I stumbled on to the fact that the character of "Sophie" in The Squid and the Whale, Walt's girlfriend for much of the film, her last name in the film is Greenberg. I wonder if he just likes the name?

Yeah, Sophie Greenberg. And in Kicking & Screaming' we can hear the same name in a telephone message from Elliott Gould. Just a coincidence? I doubt it. At least is something very strange.

I must say I'm having the exact opposite reaction. I enjoyed Margot at the wedding upon release. With this film, it looks as though Baumbach is trying too hard to be too in; Ben Stiller & LCD Soundsystem. Not really his style if you ask me but those two factors will make people go and see this film. It is too early to really pass judgement, I just despise Ben Stiller.

I revisited all of Baumbach's films around the time Greenberg came out and I ended up putting together a list of reccuring themes and obsessions through out his last three films. There are obviously spoilers for all three, but if you're interested it's here.
