I apoligize if this has been covered before, but I couldn't find the answer anywhere. Why is Futureman called Futureman? It just seems like such a strange nickname. Is there a story behind it? <p>I always wanted to be a Tenenbaum.</p>

He looks like he's from the future.

That's either the official version or the theory of some other Racer. I'm sure we've got a thread on here somewhere about this. Or we did, before we got hacked. <p><!--EZCODE HR START--><hr /><!--EZCODE HR END-->In 1966, Andy Dufrense escaped from Shawshank prison, all they found of him was a muddy set of prison clothes, a bar of soap, and an old rock hammer, damn near worn down to the nub.</p>

Yeah, it was mentioned before that he was called FutureMan because he looks like he's from the future. <p><!--EZCODE HR START--><hr /><!--EZCODE HR END-->"When I was a little kid I wanted to know what caused thunder."

It's explained in the first draft of the script. Littlebananna.com has it.

Another question concerning the script: Is there anywhere on the net the shooting script? <p><!--EZCODE HR START--><hr /><!--EZCODE HR END-->"When I was a little kid I wanted to know what caused thunder."

Uhhhm, D88, I know GodsAmongDirectors has a script but I don't know if it's actually the shooting script. I've seen so many hacked up versions now. :\

I haven't watched my copy Bottle Rocket for so long you guys. Just hit me. I think I caught it on Comedy Central last time I watched it.

Oooh, look, I went to see if the site was still there. They have the full script and a daily script.

wasn't it said somewhere that Futureman was modeled after Bill Paxton's older brother character in Weird Science?

i seem to remember hearing that.
