Hi everyone. I'm new here, but I've been a rabid Wes Anderson fan since seeing Rushmore in the theatre. At first I didn't think TRT could top it (and maybe it hasn't), but I love it more every time I see it. I'm currently working on compiling a "Criterion" edition of the soundtrack, with all the missing songs and up to 35 dialog clips to introduce them.
The music list on the RT section of wesanderson.org has been invaluable, and I've heard about a "score only" version of the soundtrack that was prepared for the Oscar people. Has anyone heard or seen this CD, and is there any way to get the score pieces that are in the film but not on the soundtrack? The only one I could get off the DVD intact was "Sparkplug Minuet (3rd Movement)" which plays in it's entirety after the Van Morrison song over the credits.
I agree with what others here have said: The Mark Mothersbaugh music is beautiful and by now essential to the "Wes Anderson experience." I never cared much for soundtrack music (and I'm a big Randy Newman fan), but I love MM's so much that I'm also going to make a CD of his best from the three WA movies.
Anyway, if anyone could help me find some of those "lost" pieces I would be forever grateful. I've tried ebay several times and haven't seen it.
