The movie was scheduled to start on February 24th here in Germany but now they delayed it again for 3 week, so now it's coming out on March 17th. And slowly I just can't wait anymore. I've been waiting for this movie since it was announced.

Could anyone describe how you guys felt watching the movie for the first time?

Another thing: Does the movie contain the usual Wes-trademarks?
I know it has a slow-mo-ending, but what about 4 characters under water? <p>------------------
"Swamp leeches! Everybody check for swamp leeches! Nobody got hit?! I'm the only one, what's the deal?!"

well, when I went to see it in theatres. (first time seeing a Wes Anderson flick on the big screen) everybody was like all anxious because Fonzie was there, and he couldn't get good seats so by the time the previews came along, he had to sit in the lousy front.Seeing it for the first time was basically incredible, all the blue, and the music coming out of the stereos, beautiful. Everybody laughing at the funny parts. it was truly, truly, groovy.

TLA was actually the first Wes Anderson film I ever saw. I was a freshman in High School. It was one of the most profound experiences I remember ever having. I was in a weird phase in my life, a rather depressing one actually, and the film swept me off my feet with a character (Steve Zissou himself) I found myself truly relating to, despite his classic middle aged dilemma. It really set me back on track as a person.

This probably would have been the case with any of the others if I had seen them first however, such a large part of it was purely in the discovery of Wes Anderson, a style of film I had never seen before.

It was my first Wes Anderson film and the birth of "my favorite director" "my favorite movie" for me. I love Bill Murray and now Iove Wes just as much. I went to it with a girlfriend (now ex) and she didn't like it and criticized it so I broke up with her.
I really connected with the words he says in the sub "I wonder if he remembers me..." This strikes a nerve because, for me, it sums up the entire idea for the film. He was a self obsessed man who got a big head, learned to ease up a bit but still wonders if the creature, who has only seen him at his worst, remembers such an infinitesimal man. (I don't believe I'm getting the words out right, it's late and I'm tired)
