i'm curious about some of the names that are floating around on this board, so i thought i'd ask what they mean.
"Olwiggum" is a Simpsons references for those of you that don't watch the show.
I ask way too many questions, so a friend of mine called me Wiggum one day (after Ralph Wiggum).

what about the rest of you?

Mine's obvious: I love the character of Dudley. (And Freaks and Geeks, where I first saw the actor who played Dudley.)

Corey, if you are nicknamed after Ralph Wiggum, you should check out the Hot Topic store. They have some very funny Simpson's t-shirts now, and they have one with Ralph. (We got one for my son that has the Comic Book Guy on it, proclaiming "Worst Simpsons T Shirt Ever!") They have a website: HotTopic.com.

I use this name for a few different boards, and I've had it for awhile. Most people think it's a play on Pink Floyd's song "Comfortably Numb", which it might well be. But I chose it because it's the name of a great song by one of my favorite bands, Superdrag. Who I'm sure ripped it off of Pink Floyd.

My ostentatiously elaborate sig should explain my screen-name, but if not, it's in reference to a Tenacious D song (which is in reference to an episode of the Leonard Nimoy show that never actually existed. They made "in Search of Bigfoot," "in Search of the Abominible Snowman" and "in Search of the Missing Link," but never "in Search of Sasquatch.")

olwiggum: what's the "ol" part, then? Are you old? <p><center><a href=http://pub72.ezboard.com/BBSUser.showSendPrivMessage?recipientID=insearchofsasquatch><img src=http://www.myezboard.com/projects/ezboard/ezboard_userimages/aspecialthingthetenaciousdfanboard/images/isoS.lyric.banner.gif></a></center></p>

obviously, bernice is the name of Grace's friend- Grace being Anthony's sister in Bottle Rocket.

bernice has a small but memorable part when she asks Anthony "are you the pilot?"

Grace: can you excuse us for a minute, Bernice?

Anthony to Grace: you told your friend Bernice that I'm some kind of jet pilot?

and that's about all we know of Bernice. but i think that last line is one of the funniest lines in the movie, mainly due to Luke's delivery. and for some reason, i find myself repeating it alot for no apparent reason.

nah, i'm not old (unless 24 is old).
i should have clarified that. when he first called me Wiggum, he said something to the affect of , "look at lil' wiggum".
i used to use "LilWiggum" as an AOL screen name. at one point, i changed accounts and wanted to keep Wiggum somehow (it wouldn't let me be just plain Wiggum), so i started using Olwiggum.
when i got DSL and dropped AOL, i just started using Olwiggum as my name for everything (e-mail, boards, etc...)

Well, mine probably seems obvious. but there's a bit of a story behind it.

About a year ago in college, my friends and I used to plan out pranks in our spare time. During this lil' phase we all saw Bottle Rocket, and we fell in love. From then on, whenever we went out prankin' we'd give each other codenames after the characters from the movie. I was obviously 'Mr. Henry'.

We've given up the mischief since, but for some reason everybody still calls me Mr. Henry. Anywho, I figured it was a good handle for this board.

I chose Kumar because it was the first time in a long time that I had watched a movie that I actually cried from laughing so hard. I had to pause the movie every time he said something because it was so hilarious. So in time when I father a child I shall name him Kumar. . . that or some name that my wife and I mutually agree on. <p>"Man. I blew it. I blew it, man."</p>

Mine's pretty simple, a thinly veiled reference to a Tool album, Aenima. I came up with the idea (when I started chatting etc.) to combine the song title "aenema" and the word "animatron" (like Disneyland's Pirates of the Caribbean). Since aenima/aenema are combinations of the word anima* and enema**, I felt the further permutation would be original enough to pass the "pick a username" process without any stupid appended numbers. I've been using it ever since. I guess that isn't as simple as I thought.

By the way, olwiggum, the last Simpsons I saw had one of THE BEST Ralphie lines EVER: "Principal Skinner and Mrs. Krabappel were in the closet making babies and I saw one of the babies and the baby looked at me." Almost as good as "Super Nintendo Chalmers".

*noun : an individual's true inner self that in the analytic psychology of C. G. Jung reflects archetypal ideals of conduct; also : an inner feminine part of the male personality

**noun : the injection of liquid into the intestine by way of the anus <p><HR>Check out <a href=http://db.etree.org/aenematron>My Show List</a>!<BR>---<BR>"While writing this script, I head-butt [sic] my dog so hard that we both screamed."<BR>-Robert</p>

Mine is pretty boring actually! It's just the first 3 letters of my name followed by my nickname! lol! How I first came to that I really don't remember!
