I just got my sister all them glass family books for her graduation, and she's been obsessed with them. then she pointed out this part of the book to me--the mom's maiden name was actually Tenenbaum. Is this common knowledge? I always just thought it was because Wes knew Brian and Margot Tenenbaum growing up...but I guess the book might've been an even bigger influence than imagined or something.

It's a different spelling, right? Maybe there're just a lot of Tennenbaum/Tannenbaums in NYC.

iu think its Tenembaum not Tenenbaum, so very slight difference.

I thought that was Boo Boo's married name, rather than Bessie's maiden name. I believe Bessie's family were Irish. I'll have to check though.

i don't know if this has been discussed much on this board before b/c i'm new, but there are a lot of similarities between the glass family and the tenenbaums: the quiz show for precocious children that richie, chas, and margot were on is very similar to salinger's "it's a wise child"; and the relationships between the parents and the children in both of the families seem to have some similarities, with the parents being kind of distant and the children sort of raising themselves.

It's a Wise Child I remember, but when were the Tenenbaums on a quiz show? A press conference I remember, but not a quiz show.
