I bought a used television off Craigslist and a cheap DVD player from Best Buy and I'm running The Royal Tenenbaums on continual loop in my apartment. It's been running all week so far and I'm committed to have it run for 10,000 movies, or roughly 2.5 years.

Man what a killjoy Raleigh....welcome to the board Javelina. I'd be afraid of getting sick of the movie myself, but have fun with it. :rock <p><!--EZCODE CODE START--><pre> <!--EZCODE HR START--><hr /><!--EZCODE HR END--></pre><!--EZCODE CODE END-->If you ever drop your keys in a river of molten lava, let 'em go, 'cause man, they're gone.</p>

It seems that many of you are missing the true point of my project here. The Royal Tenenbaums is a piece of art created by one of the true masters of his time; and like all lasting artists, their value isn't simply relegated to the work they produce, but is also measured in the legions of future artists they influence. Mr. Anderson has single-handedly forged a new path in filmmaking, just as Scorsese, Kubrick, Lucas, and Orson Welles have.

Most historians point to Citizen Kane as the seminal motion picture in filmmaking history. While it's a masterpiece for sure, Welles' true contribution here wasn't just his movie but how he changed Hollywood with his camera angles, obsessive tinkering to get the perfect shot, the perfect lighting, the perfect delivery, etc.

We Anderson has done something similar to Welles with his vision. The Royal Tenenbaums is the crown jewel in a new genre of filmmaking that has the legs to carry it and influence others for years to come.

No offense, but it seems a tad pretentious <p><!--EZCODE HR START--><hr /><!--EZCODE HR END-->

If I wanted to be pretentious I'd be running an old black-and-white by Fellini or Bergman. The beauty of Anderson flicks is their inherently unpretentious nature.

It's odd that everyone who's seen my TeneVision loves it, yet on a message board dedicated to lovers of the very movie, there is nothing but unbridled hostility. Such combative nature is unfortunately commonplace in these venues.

I realize I'm new here, but I wonder how so many of you stick around so long with such venom directed at the new members??? I thought we are all here to discuss and revel in the movie, not shoot down others' ideas. :(

I guess the age-old maxim, if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all doesn't apply here?

It's not always like this Javelina. Sometimes comments are taken the wrong way and sometimes people just like to throw out the words <!--EZCODE BOLD START--><strong>pretentious</strong><!--EZCODE BOLD END--> and <!--EZCODE BOLD START--><strong>unbridled hostility</strong><!--EZCODE BOLD END--> which are unnecessary in this case. I really like your explanation of the purpose of the loop. Sounds pretty cool. :cheers <p><!--EZCODE CODE START--><pre> <!--EZCODE HR START--><hr /><!--EZCODE HR END--></pre><!--EZCODE CODE END-->If you ever drop your keys in a river of molten lava, let 'em go, 'cause man, they're gone.</p>

Not meaning to be hostile, I was only stating an opinion. But I'm just saying it's something I'd roll my eyes at if I saw. The board is usually quite nice actually, and I apologize if I made it seem otherwise. <p><!--EZCODE HR START--><hr /><!--EZCODE HR END-->

Welcome, welcome WiiiiildJavelina!! Sorry that you felt like people were trampling on your idea.

I do quite like the idea of displaying it as art, although, maybe for the environment, you could turn it off at night? ;)

But welcome. This is the loooove board. :)

For those who remember me I worked on TRT. I love Wes Anderson as both a fan and as a crew memeber. At this point he might not even remember me but in my almost 10 years in teh buisness he is still my favorite director I have ever worked with on a profesional level.

One thing about accually making film is you learn that people are just people. There is no added element to them, there is no +1 to anything they do you'd try to do yourself. They are people,

I love film, I love Wes, I loved the work I have done, but part of my pride is that I know if anyone else put the proper effort into it they could do it also, I just found a way to do it better. Love TRT, it's worthy, but don't worship it. Those who worship usally don't learn and progress from something since inherintly worshiping something makes you less then it.

I think you should project it into the street so others can see the film. You already know and love it, time to convert others. At the least put the tv in a window : )
