Did anyone notice the little "Livery" sign on the yellow jeep that transports Steve to Eleanor's place. It shows a little black stick figure holding a suitcase and running. I have just always loved this little tid bit.

Are there any other little things that anyone else admires in this film?

Yeah, I noticed that. (I was looking to see if Pele was in the Jeep, and found a stick figure instead.)

Is this going to be the "little things that made me laugh" thread?

Ping Island moment: I love when Klaus grabs the dynamite, and runs with Ned into the hotel on the same partition of that rotating door, and they shuffle their feet all speedy and tiny.

I love when Ned is trying to give Steve a peptalk late in the film and they put their hands together and do the old "1-2-3-team!" thing (I forget the exact words) but in the background Klaus is down the hall and does the same jesture. Defoe is so freakin' great.

i love the little animals everywhere on the island. cats, dogs, birds flying free around the house... and of course, the killer whale. pescespada island is my dreamhome, i swear. :)

reality had met me, such a short time ago, in such and ugly shape, that i have no wish to come in contact with it again. somewhere in me a dark fear was still crouching and i took refuge within the fantastic like a distressed child in his book of fairy tales. i did not want to look ahead, and not at all to look back. I love that Ned puts his hand in twice, and Steve leaves him hanging a minute, and then they do the team thingy.

Willem Dafoe: UWM, baby! :rock

UWM is the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee.

True story: Will Durst, the political comedian and writer, used to say in interviews that he attended UWM, and wanted to be an actor, but all of the good male roles went to his classmate, Willem Dafoe.

(Durst used to write a funny (sort of "HELLO, DUH!") column for CommonDreams.org, not sure if it's still there.)

I love when everyone is in the submarine at the end and beneath the audio player is a little sign that says "No more than six people permitted at any time."

:lol

Yet there's about twelve people in the sub.

I loved the uniform shirts the interns had to wear. It's an even more demeaning gesture of a mundane job with a washed-up old man for college credits.

Now I want a shirt. And an internship with Bill Murray. But who doesn't? I suppose Willem Dafoe is just as much of a genius...

You're confusing me. You have my screename. It's rather frightening.

But yes, I believe there is already a thread for these, "The Little Things TLA edition".

Lobsteriscos Rocketiza

Dalmation, you misspelled Dalmatian, so the name wasn't taken. :)

I never knew that! I can't believe i've gone 200 and something posts with a mispelled name! I used to be such a good speller. Poor me. Dalmatian looks rather strange, but I suppose any word does if you look at it for too long. I also found that I spelled Yassar Arafat wrong. I feel like a foooool. A damn fool. I sorta want to make a new screen name, but I like having my nice posty count so I can feel special.
