Just wanted to start a thread here for this film. It's screening at many festivals in the upcoming months before it's tentative U.S. release in November.

Just got word via Moore's site that Columbine was passed over by the brave, independent geniuses at Lincoln Center.

It will never come anywhere near Alabama. I guess I'll have to see it on video.

Wait, I won't watch it. Moore is a communist.... ;)

Bah, he is just liberal. Anyway, I hope this comes to Winnipeg - at least at the art-house. :) <p><a href=http://www.dvdprofiler.com/mycollection.asp?alias=SolidSnakeASS>My DVDs</a></p>

I know, but a lot of people don't joke about that. They actually believe it. <p><a href=http://www.dvdprofiler.com/mycollection.asp?alias=SolidSnakeASS>My DVDs</a></p>

I really don't want to get into a unfortunately memorable political thread here, and I have a feeling our lord and saviour Wiggum doesn't either, but I don't like Moore. I think he has some good ideas but ingeneral I think he's the liberal/democrat version of Anne Coulter. Extremist, alarmist, overreaching and prefers controversy and hyperbole over non-partisan political discussion. I am curious about the Columbine film, but I don't feel like walking face first into a propaganda film, either.

If only there was a documentary filmmaker (like Errol Morris?) who would explore political themes without taking a stance BEFORE the cameras roll. Either way, this isn't a political discussion board and I'd like to keep it that way, so whatever you do, don't respond to my post! Heh. <p><HR>Check out <a href=http://db.etree.org/aenematron>My Show List</a>!<BR>---<BR>"This is a movie too. Cut, print, that's a wrap everybody. We're over budget, the trial scene's cut. See ya at the Oscars!"<BR>-"Robert Blake"</p>

The thing is, Moore is a comedian, so ofcourse he relies on controversy and extreme actions to straight politcal arguments. I don't consider his films to be documentaries, because a documentary shouldn't be biased. He is just presenting a twisted view for our enjoyment. <p><a href=http://www.dvdprofiler.com/mycollection.asp?alias=SolidSnakeASS>My DVDs</a></p>

Sorry I brought up old shit. My bad. I don't know when to let a joke die.

The rest of this thread should be devoted to the film. Thanks.

I have never even heard of the guy who made the film, so I am interested in finding out about it. Is it a documentery, or a an actual film with actors and stuff? Is it about the kids who killed all those people at the school or is it just a coincedence that the title is bowling for columbine? <p>Me fail english? that's unpossible.</p>

Well, to anaswer one of your questions, it is a documentary, but not in the common sense. This isn't a impartial view, so it shouldn't be taken as the only document of the times. <p><a href=http://www.dvdprofiler.com/mycollection.asp?alias=SolidSnakeASS>My DVDs</a></p>
