I've been busy getting obsessed with Terrence Malick and Werner Herzog, but I'm still around, lurking.

Whoah, I didn't mean to start a whole new topic...oops.

There's a 6 DVD set available only on his website, http://www.wernerherzog.com, which has over 20 documentaries, mostly shorts. It's close to $200, though. I've seen a few of the shorts lately, "The Great Ecstasy of the Sculptor Steiner" and "La Soufriere" are both excellent.

As for Malick, the long-rumored 3-hour cut of The New World is reportedly done, and ready for a fall release.

No, that just makes you an opportunity. I'd suggest going chronologically. It's not tough, he's only made 4 films.

The only Malick film I've seen is 'The New World' which I thought was about as entertaining as a trip to the dentist, and about as painful. If this is an indication of the rest of his work I don't get the appeal.

Obviously I'm OT here, but I don't really care. Something's just really bothering me. Margraet Yang, it's your handle. It's Margaret Yang. I can only assume that you tried to register with the correct spelling but discovered that somebody else has that name already (not that she posts here anymore, neither does her Max, for that matter).

i know, kumar, not fair.

maybe, margraet yang, since you're being forced to get it wrong, maybe you should re-register as "Miss Chang." :D

(wow, i can't believe i just doubted my rushmore quoting ability...didn't he call her miss chang?) (he did.)

i think "days of heaven" is one of the most overrated films in film history. i mean, it looks great, amazing shots, but what else does it have? i liked "badlands" way better, althought that one's pretty overrated, too.
