What do you think is Luke Wilson's best performance in a Wes Anderson film? BR, R, or TRT? I believe it was The Royal Tenenbaums easily. He was so great. So powerful and showed so much emotion. -- Fritz Lang

The Royal Tenenbaums. Hands down. Very few actors could pull off the role of a lonely, suicidal, sister-obsessed, washed-up tennis player without making it melodramatic and awful. But he has such an incredible sweetness and sincerity that he pulls it off. It makes you wonder why there weren't any acting award nominations for The Royal Tenenbaums... although I guess LOTR ROTK won about 2795097239 Oscars without a single acting nomination, so go figure. I guess ensemble pieces have a tougher time with awards.

he was also good in br, but maybe a little too "passive"? nice to see him in rm but his acting was nothing worth mentioning i guess.

yeah, trt. he makes it seem so okay to be in love with your sister. i'm an only child so i don't entirely know what it's like to have a sibling (i can see how it'd be especially perturbing to have the old HS "yo your sister's hot," as an already awkward teenage boy).

still, it's like i am not even kind of weirded out - it's just something they have to keep secretive because of the society theyre in

I still love him best as Anthony. Partly the role, yeah, but I really felt like it suited his style. It could also be a more hopeful brand of depression in Anthony and a comparatively fatalistic kind in Richie (which would obviously be my close second).

What? No love for Peter?

First, Bottle Rocket is my favorite movie and I love the Anthony Adams(Luke Wilson) character.Of course, Dignan is another of my favorite characters. But that's about Luke and I have to say that Richie Tenenbaum is his best perfomance. And the best sequence is when he tries to commit suicide cutting his veins while we listen the song "Needle in the hay". It's brilliant.

It's not an Anderson film, but his work in "Blonde Ambition" is breathtaking. Truly a great performance.

(seriously Luke, what the hell?)
