Funny, because most people INCLUDING Fiona say they think the Official version is mor stripped-down. I so disagree.

HOWEVER, Jon Brion says the leaked versions are not Final Mixes or mastered, so just bear that in mind. It's noticable in a few places, ex., in red red red the vocals are clearly not forward enough. Still, it's a beautiful album.

"I don't give a damn for a man that can only spell a word one way." -mark twain

Fiona fans, quick question, I hope you can help:
Is Fiona Apple credited as the sole songwriter for the Extraordinary Machine tracks or does Jon Brion or anyone else get songwriting credits?
Thanks!

Sorry I didn't check out the Music forum before.

Fiona Apple is the sole composer and lyricist for all her albums. On the official reelase, Jon Brion gets credit for arranging Extraordinary Machine and Waltz.

Sorry again. next time you have trivia needs please-mail me! I also answer trivia questions for Jon Brion, Mark Mothersbaugh, Aimee Mann, and music before 1800 ;)

A short song about club Largo, which switched locations recently, performed on the last night of the old location, with Jon Brion.

(There's a good article on Largo and it's peoplez in the May 19th issue of the New Yorker, and because of that, I half-know what the fuck she's singing about.)

No fair that we're still on the May 12 issue here in Canada. waaaah.

But yes the song is adorable.

I was at the penultimate Jon Brin show at Old Largo and Fiona was there. She is rail-thin right now but her singing has never been more lovely. She did a bunch of Ellington songs, and Bill withers' "Ain't no sunshne", and soem other stuff wiht NIckel Creek members and Benmont Tench joining in. Sigh... I don't know if people realize what a wondrful musician she is. 'Criminal" kind of obliterates all other impressions.
