I read this a few days ago, and it has bothered me.

Quote:
Fox was planning to release it as a major holiday tentpole, but decided to dump it on their indie division and just sort of let the thing die. Some are theorizing that the thing is a disaster based off the first picture revealed, but after this new one, even though a friend of mine called it “disastrous looking, like someone made a movie about Howard the Duck’s cousin”, I think it looks fantastic.

I have known these facts, that the film's release date was moved around and that it was handed over to Searchlight, but I never read into those changes. Searchlight has a better handle on grassroots marketing than its big sister studio, it seems, but I can see how the release date and possibly a smaller marketing/advertising budget (?) might be considered a downgrade.

Any thoughts?

As you have probably seen on the front page, the poster.

I really like it. I think kids will like it and recognize it if they've seen the trailer since it's so distinctive and even if they can' read the giant yellow bold futura titles are a good choice too and easily identifiable. I'm almost always against putting voice-actors names on animated film's posters, but I think perhaps having two of the most famous actors in the world on the poster might make people reticent about the difference of the animation more curious and interested. I'm also happy Wes' name is on there, and I like the tag line, which is either a complicated play on an expression, or just a nice little reference to TLA.

Thoughts everyone?
