i think the only Owen films i've seen without Wes are:
Cable Guy
Shanghai Knights
Meet the Parents

i would pick Meet the Parents out of these.....even though it's a smaller role, he's so funny.......my friend has the DVD and the deleted takes/scenes are hilarious

I must say my absolute favorite Owen character is still gonna be Roy O'Bannon. Roy is just sooo over the top and absolutely hilarious. Besides, Owen looks great in those tight pants :p <p>"What the dilly yo yo?" "I may not know ka-ra-te, but I know CRAZY!"</p>

I love him in Meet the Parents. Absolutely hilarious. Another personal favorite of mine is Behind Enemy Lines. I know a lot of people like to complain about this movie, but it was a slightly different role for him. While he still made quite a few wisecracks, I think he did a fine job carrying an action movie by himself.

Kumar - I totally agree with you. I know many people have a problem with him being in BEL but I loved him in it. I have seen it and BR a million times (OK so that may be a bit of an exaggeration). I don't have a problem with anything he does - he has his reasons and I support him no matter what.

Gosh darn it, cripes... See, I like Roy, and I hate Hansel. He did such a good job with Hansel, and since I hate pseudo-hippies such as that character, I hate him. His lines make me gasp and shiver. In a bad way. If only he were a little less hatable, I'd say he's my favorite. And whoever wrote the script for Shanghai Knights gutted Roy, so that's ruined.

Janeane Garofalo. :) Nice effort though.

I'm going to bump the Minus Man thread for you. And I loved him in it. <p><!--EZCODE HR START--><hr /><!--EZCODE HR END-->"We just passed Musgrave Real Estate. And very nice little mansionettes they were too, though stained, probably, with adulterous blood of yore." - JWH</p>

Obviously his performances as Dignan and Eli leave everything else he has done in their wake. However, in terms of the rest I would rate them as follows

1) Minus Man - Vann Siegert (sp?)
2) Shanghai Noon - Roy O' Bannon
3) Meet The Parents - Kevin the Ex.

I can't stand Zoolander (just a personal taste thing - apologies to those who love it) I feel like for 90 very long minutes they are trading on about four jokes, told over and over and over. Yes male models are dumb, vanity is lame blah blah blah - I got that after the first five minutes and oh that's all there is. I also kinda felt the jokes were delivered with hammer blows no subtlety here, no layers, no leaving you to get what you get and to meet the humour - no, this was here comes the joke, get ready to laugh - NOW! comedy. I really admire Owen as a writer and actor so I don't mean to be offensive but it was a far cry from BR & TRT. However on a more positive note I thought that Shanghai Noon had some unexpectedly good lines and that he managed to bring something quite special to what could have been real meat and potatoes fare. Just my opinion :)

Amen to that. Zoolander was painful.

I've been out a bit, SocialD, but I've enjoyed reading your posts this morning. Welcome to the Racer board! <p><!--EZCODE HR START--><hr /><!--EZCODE HR END-->"We just passed Musgrave Real Estate. Thanks for the welcome Highwaters :)

This is a great board by far the best I have found for a broad range of really interesting threads and posts on a wide range of topics - including my favourite director! I am slowly working my way throgh the 80's thread - lots of hillarious posts there, from lots of yeankee racers incluing yourself! I should surface around November ;)
