i'm currently watching rushmore, and mr. blume (sp?) just walked up to miss cross' houseshewashousesitting when she was 'just having a little snack'

she offered him a carrot and he sighed, "yeah i'll have one of those."

what are some other favorite lines from bill's characters.

ON EDIT: also, "faah, haahh!!" at getting stung. i'm laughing out loud as i type this!

From What About Bob?:

I see salt and I see pepper, but I don't see a salt substitute.

In 1966, Andy Dufrense escaped from Shawshank prison, all they found of him was a muddy set of prison clothes, a bar of soap, and an old rock hammer, damn near worn down to the nub.

I've always loved (and used) his line from Tootsie, where he's describing the theater he would only have open when it rains: "These people are alive on the planet... until they dry off."

From Rushmore:

"Unlock it!"

From TLA:

"Hook up that thing and make me a latte".

I love most of his lines in Scrooged.

I got to use two Murray lines from Tootsie today, as I was dying the DudleyGirl's hair purple:

Mid-dye, as I was using a complicated mix of hair-clips, tin foil, rubberbands and vaseline: "I think we're getting into a weird area here."

And after all the dye was on, and she turned to face me with all of the above and two sticky purple horns of hair: "Mmmm, okay. But don't play hard to get."

Mandingo. I grock your mouth music. -- The Tick

Groundhog's Day!

"You want a prediction about the weather, you're asking the wrong Phil. I'll give you a winter prediction: It's gonna be cold, it's gonna be grey, and it's gonna last you for the rest of your life."

"This is pitiful. A thousand people freezing their butts off waiting to worship a rat. What a hype. Well, it used to mean something in this town. They used to pull the hog out, and they used to eat it. You're hypocrites, all of you! You have a problem with what I'm saying, Larry? Untie your tongue, and you come out here and talk, huh? Am I upsetting you, Princess?"

And I love in Ghostbusters when he says something along the lines of "Ray! Ray! There's somebody comin'!"

And what do the birds say? All there is to say about a massacre, things like "Poo-tee-weet?!" - Kurt Vonnegut, Slaughterhouse-Five

Dudley fan! You're a cool mom! not only letting her dye her hair purple, but helping her do it.

When I was a kid I dyed my hair red, and cause I was blonde it initially was REALLY red, like a fire truck... anyway, my father FLIPPED OUT... he yelled like he's never yelled before, told me I looked like a clown.

It faded, and he got over it, but still... I was wounded

Buckley, the Girl wanted to dye her hair something colorful for the last two years, but they didn't allow it in middle school. Her high school has no problem with it.

I figure it's just hair, y'know? She's a good kid, and it will grow out. And it does look pretty cool.

Mandingo. I grock your mouth music. -- The Tick
