The Pinball Machine
The business where the pinball machine is is located near Dallas. It's in Grand Prairie, Texas, in the Western Union office.

The Barber Shop (the place where Dignan and Bob almost got haircuts) is located one black away from the pinball scene.

Comments from Jordan Blake (lawnwranglers e-mail list) to add:
"Hinckley Cold Storage (Texas Ice House) is located at 4008 Commerce (as indicated on the building in the movie) in Dallas, TX. It's pretty easy to find. Commerce is a pretty major street in Dallas and runs right downtown. Hinckley is east of downtown. Unfortunately, the building is now a reddish maroon color, but everything else about the building is the same. The green roofed walkway is still out front. I got my picture taken standing on it. I didn't get to take the tour because it was a Saturday and the office was closed. They only people around didn't speak English. Just a few blocks west of Hinckley's is the street corner where Anthony and Dignan come out of the diner-like place where they were playing pinball and Dignan says, "You know there's nothing to steal from my mom and Craig!" The corner is Murray and Commerce, and it still looks identical. However, I don't think the place they played pinball is actually near there. If it was, it is long gone. I didn't even see any buildings that look like it. The Bookstore (or at least where it used to be) is in the Northpark mall. It is not in the main mall building, but in a separated building out by the street. The bookstore is gone, and some new walls have been built inside it, but it looks the same from the outside. If you'll notice on the movie, it says J-1500 above the door. That address is still there. We took some pictures and brought them home and compared them to the movie and it's hilarious how much it still looks the same. The motel is the Ramada Inn in Hillsboro, Texas. Hillsboro is one hour south of Dallas on I-35. The Ramada is right on the interstate at the corner of I-35 and Highway 22. We also found the Fireworks stand that the guys buy their fireworks at, however it is now closed. The stand looks nearly identical, however the sign and lettering at the top of the stand are smaller. But, looking at the surrounding area and the driveway and the Zenith sign right out front, we were 99.99% sure that it was the right fireworks stand. It is located on Highway 22 about 3 or 4 miles west of Hillsboro. The owner of the motel told us that the gas station where they fill up right before they go to the fireworks stand is in Peoria, Texas, just 5 miles west of Hillsboro. However, we went there, and Peoria is really nothing more than a bump in the road. We never found the gas station. Our only clue from the movie is that it is near a small football stadium (high school). I didn't get to check it out, but a map on the wall in the Love's Truck Stop showed that the Eagle Football Stadium is just south of Hillsboro, and appeared to be out by itself. I have a strong suspicion that the gas station is near there. Well, that's about all I know. Be sure to ask the desk clerk at the Ramada about Bottle Rocket. The part-owner we talked to seemed to love to talk about it. He even gave us some memorabilia from when the movie was shot. I got to go inside room 212, but we stayed in room 111. When I had called two weeks beforehand, I was told that room 212 was on long-term rental. Now I feel ripped off, because the room was empty when we went in to it."
